Steinberg, Judah
(1863-1908)
   Bessarabian writer and educator. He was born in Lipkany. His early works include a writing manual, a book of proverbs and a children's storybook. In 1897 he became a teacher in Leovo, Moldavia, and later settled in Odessa, where he was the correspondent of the New York daily Di warheit. He published textbooks, children's stories, feuilletons and fables. A number of his stories deal with Hasidic life.
